Raymond L. Jazz, Rock, Pop, Classical & Flamenco Guitar
Ray has played guitar professionally for over twelve years, performing jazz, rock, pop, classical, and flamenco at venues across the valley. He has performed with various local and international jazz legends such as Lewis Nash, Michael Kocour, Jeff Libman, Benny Golson, and others. In 2015, Ray graduated from ASU with a Bachelor's in jazz guitar performance, and is currently pursuing an MA in ethnomusicology at ASU, focusing on jazz in culture, jazz pedagogy, music philosophy, Irish traditional music, and Javanese Gamelan. He is featured regularly in combos and big bands throughout the area as a performer and arranger, including the band Dratini of the Rocks. When he is not playing guitar, Ray enjoys playing and performing on the tin whistle, bodhrán, banjo, and Javanese gendèr. He uses his diverse musical studies and skills to provide a unique and enjoyable experience to music learners of all ages and skill levels.
