Kelsey is a lifelong lover of music. She began playing piano at the age of 5 and appeared in her first musical at age 9. She received full academic and talent scholarships from Brigham Young University - Idaho where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Choral Music Education. Kelsey toured various states across the West with the BYU-Idaho Collegiate Singers, performed lead roles in performances of selected opera scenes, and starred in several musicals, most recently as Reno Sweeney in “Anything Goes.” These experiences and others provide her with valuable knowledge in folk music, opera, jazz, and Broadway. She also has over 10 years of experience accompanying choirs and soloists in performances of varying styles and difficulty. As rewarding as it is for her to perform, Kelsey feels it is an even greater reward to teach people of all ages to sing and play music. As a music educator, Kelsey’s love for her students is the driving force behind her teaching. She believes that when a student and teacher come together in respect for each other and love for music, the sky is the limit. Kelsey has been a member of the MMW family since spring, 2019.
