A lifelong musician and native of the Atlanta area, Anne S. is a classically trained mezzo-soprano with a love of many different styles of music. Anne received her bachelor’s degree in Voice Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music in May of 2016, and is currently studying at Arizona State University pursuing a master’s degree in Music Education. She loves teaching music to kids of all ages, from preschool through retirement, and has a particular pedagogical interest in working with changing adolescent voices. For both children and adults, she emphasizes that there is no such thing as talent, and that everyone has the potential to reach their musical goals. Additionally, Anne stresses the importance of developing technical skills as a tool to facilitate musical communication, both in solo and group music settings. With diverse musical interests, some of her favorite musical influences are Carolina Chocolate Drops, Diana Damrau, the Indigo Girls, Jessye Norman, and Olivier Messiaen. Anne has been a member of the MMW family since spring, 2018.
