Mike H- Growing up, my parents had me take piano lessons. I was decent, but I didn't love it. Then one day I heard Soundgarden's Rusty Cage on the radio. I heard Green Day's Basketcase on a classmate's walkman. That was 25 years ago, and I've been playing guitar religiously ever since. In addition to teaching guitar, bass, and ukulele, I helped create and run our awesome Rock Band program. I've also written, recorded, and performed music for TV shows such as Sprinkler's Clubhouse, a local kids morning show. Getting good takes hard work, but it should also be fun.
Mr. Jacob graduated from Arizona State University in 2011 under the direction of Michael Kocour and Jeff Libman (guitar) as a jazz performance major. While at ASU he performed in numerous combo and big band ensembles and had the opportunity to travel in 2011 as a part of the ASU Jazz Allstars, who opened four nights of performances at the legendary Jazz Showcase jazz club in Chicago for Mike Kocour and jazz legend Benny Golson. Since graduating Jacob continues to perform regularly at various public and private engagements around the valley as a leader of his own groups as well as a sideman in a variety of styles of music and his original rock band Twin Ponies.
